Are you using online tactics to attract potential customers for your business? If so, are you successfully establishing yourself as the expert in your particular field? If not, people may not view you as being worthy of their attention.

Once you cover that base, they should decide to take the next step and click through to your web site or blog to learn more about you and your products or services.

There are many places you can brand yourself and your business online, including your own blog, social media and social bookmarking sites like Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, Friend Feed and the list goes on and on.

The more places you have a presence, the better. Since it can be very time consuming, you may want to be selective when choosing the right sites.

Take some time and sign up on some of them and create your profile, upload a picture, write a bio about yourself and enter in the link or links to your web site you’d like visitors to go to, to check you or learn more about your company and your products or services.

First Place You Must Properly Brand Yourself Online:

You MUST have a blog. Your blog is the hub of your marketing campaign. I personally recommend Word Press.

You can begin by picking up a domain or web site. I use GoDaddy. Simply go there and search for a good web site name. You can use your name or a business name. Pick something that is easy to remember and represents your business.

It is worth creating a personal logo and either creating a graphic or paying someone else to do that for you. You may also want to put your photo or the logo of your brand if you have one. If you can’t do this, my company does it cheap. The link is below.

You can use your blog to offer valuable information and build credibility with your customers. You can also use your blog to build a list of customers or prospects and stay connected.

A blog has the capability to collect contact info using an Opt In Form. What if you were to offer free information in return for your prospect adding themselves to your list? Maybe they can subsribe to your list to learn about future sales you are having or subscribe to your newsletter.

Your blog will be one of if not your biggest tool in promoting yourself and your business. It is a must have.

Second Place You Must Properly Brand Yourself Online:

#2 is a YouTube Account. A great way to teach people about you and your services is by creating short video clips. Is there a better way than video to clearly demonstrate that your product can solve your customer’s challenges?

The thing is, Google owns YouTube. This is huge. You will notice when you do a search that youtube videos usually rank way up there in the results.

Anyone can do this. Just go to YouTube and set up a channel. As you will see, it is easy to do. Next you can add a bio, pictures and links.

I would recommend that you use the same graphic or logo you have on your blog, on your YouTube Channel. Once again, I am happy to help you create a matching logo if you can’t do it yourself.

Your YouTube channel will be used just like you use MySpace or Facebook. It is a social networking type of channel. People meet and share and you can build a list.

The 3rd Place You Must Have A Presence:

Twitter is the third place you should have a presence. It is easy to get on twitter. Just go to their web site and sign up for your own profile. With Twitter, you can tweet your friends and subscribers and build your list.

With Twitter each Tweet will only be 1 or 2 sentences long. Your Twitter page should have a graphic or logo that matches your youtube channel and blog.

With all of these sites being uniform and promoting your brand, customers will see you and your business as truly professional This is what you want to portray.

Many of the people or companies you compete with, will not take the time or spend the money to do this stuff, so you will be way ahead of them in your promotional campaign.

Okay! Let’s wrap this up. As you present your business to the world and show your brand, do it professionally. One way to accomplish this is by adding custom graphics to your blog, YouTube Channel and Twitter Page. Your prospects will be more inclined to do business with you or at least look into you business further if they view you as being a real professional.
